Starting May 4 the Upper Lake Mary and Narrows recreation areas will implement new updates meant to enhance enjoyment and convenience for recreationists.

On-site automated fee machines will become available for the purchase of daily passes for $10 or a weekly pass for $15. Also, these Coconino National Forest sites will now accept America the Beautiful passes and the Red Rock Annual pass as valid entry into Upper Lake Mary and Narrows recreation areas, so long as they are prominently displayed on vehicle dashboards while in use.

The Red Rock Annual pass costs $20, while America the Beautiful passes vary in price depending on the type purchased. These passes are not available at Upper Lake Mary or Narrows boating sites but can be acquired at Coconino National Forest ranger stations, the Lake Mary Country Store, and the Flagstaff Visitor Center.

Revenue generated from recreation pass sales directly supports visitor services, beach and boat ramp maintenance, as well as the preservation of natural and cultural resources in the vicinity of Upper Lake Mary.

Reservations for group-use ramadas at Upper Lake Mary are no longer accepted; these facilities are now accessible on a first-come, first-served basis. However, reservable ramadas are still offered at Lower Lake Mary by calling (928) 774-9671.

For groups exceeding 75 visitors, Special Use Permits are mandatory, and requests should be directed to the Flagstaff Ranger District at (928) 526-0866.
