Emergency and Forest services, as well as new outlets across the state have reported on the containment of the Maid Fire. Road closures in the area are in effect through March 2024.
The Fish Creek Fire (105 acres) and the KP Fire (25 acres) are in remote areas and not deemed threatening to communities. If recreating in the area, stay vigilant and obey fire managers.
The trail south of SR 87 is within the mandated closure expected to last through Dec. 1. AZT hikers may not continue south from Happy Jack to the Blue Ridge Segment.
