The trail south of SR 87 is within the mandated closure expected to last through Dec. 1. AZT hikers may not continue south from Happy Jack to the Blue Ridge Segment.
Rose Canyon Lake continues is closure to boaters and swimmer but remains open for on-shore activities. Consider these five trails and a campground in the area.
UPDATE: The burn did not take place on 10/25 and could be postponed a few days. The prescribed burn will cover 1,829 acres of National Forest land about three miles south of Vernon, AZ. Access and use of these trails may be affected.
Prescribed fire will take place near Mingus Mountain east of Highway 89A from Oct. 23-Nov. 5, 2023. At least a handful of local trails may be affected.
Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution when traveling on US Route 60, as there may be anticipated smoke impacts between mile markers 272 and 288. Griffin Hilltop Native Ruin trail possibly affected.
Use caution in Prescott National Forest on both sides of Cherry Road, north of Highway 169. Heavy machinery is at work on restoration and management through summer 2024.
