The North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is set to open at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, heralding the beginning of the 2024 season. On the same date, Grand Canyon Lodge and Grand Canyon Trail Rides will kick off their seasonal operations. Read the national park’s original press release here.

Starting at 8 a.m., visitor services, including the campground, Grand Canyon Conservancy bookstore, and the Backcountry Information Office, will be available. Information regarding daily Park Ranger programs will be accessible at the Roaring Springs Overlook Kiosk until October 15. Additionally, Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim facilities, encompassing lodging, groceries, retail, food and beverage services, shower and laundry, and the gas station, will all open on May 15. The lodge dining room will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Most commercial services will conclude their 2024 season on October 15.

Day use of the North Rim will be permitted until November 30, or until winter conditions emerge. The Backcountry Information Office will continue operations until October 31. Following the closure of Highway 67 for the season, access to the North Rim will be restricted to non-motorized travel.
