Lake Pleasant’s current high water level results in minimal shoreline available for parking and recreation at the lake over Memorial Day weekend 2024. This is expected to limit the number of visitors who can safely enjoy the park without causing damage to the environment or affecting the visitor experience.

Here’s what to expect:

Possible park closures

Depending on how busy the park gets, for visitor safety and the protection of natural resource, the park is likely to close on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday for up to six hours.

  • In the event of a closure, the park will not reopen until 4 p.m.
  • Recreationists leaving the park while it is closed will not be allowed back in.

Park hours

The park hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Limited boat parking

Water levels at the lake are continuing to rise and staff are expecting water to cover the park’s lower parking lot at the concrete spillway. There will be parking spaces available at the 10-lane (main and east parking lot) and the 4-lane (space limited), until filled. Visitors are encouraged to use Pleasant Harbor Marina (87th Ave., east of Lake Pleasant) as an alternate entrance.

Camping

All campsites are reserved and there are no remaining vacancies nor first-come-first-served sites. Remember that shoreline camping is prohibited.

Campfires

The park is under a fire ban. No campfires, fire pits, or charcoal grills are allowed.
