Maricopa County Parks and Recreation has announced that work to improve its Southeast Valley trail park will begin March 4, 2024 and run through March 2025. The San Tan Mountain Regional Park Goldmine Trailhead Improvement Project has planned improvements including:

  • A contact station
  • Restrooms
  • Equestrian and vehicle parking
  • Host sites

During the year of trailhead construction and improvements at Goldmine Trail, recreationists’ access to parking on the north side of the park will be limited. As the work will be conducted on the lot where trail access parking has previously been, during construction there will be temporary trailhead parking available in the dirt lot west of the trailhead.

Park communications say, “The temporary trailhead offers LIMITED PARKING. Access to trails will remain open. Do not trespass through the construction zone. Please adhere to “No Parking” signs, and be mindful of the park neighbors. Parking is prohibited along the roadway.”
