Prickly Pedal on the Maricopa Trail

The Prickly Pedal is a 36-mile point-to-point cycling race, starting in Cave Creek at the Flat Tire Bike Shop and riding through town to Spur Cross. From there, participants join the Maricopa Trail, eventually reaching the finish line at Lake Pleasant Regional Park’s 10-Lane Boat Ramp. The event highlights the diversity of the Maricopa Trail and supports the Maricopa Trail and Park Foundation.

The event aims to contribute every dollar of race revenue to expand the pristine miles of the Maricopa Trail for recreationists’ enjoyment.

Near the 10-Lane Boat Ramp finish line from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Prickly Pedal will be hosting an awards ceremony and after party where racers and supporters are invited to attend and enjoy snacks, refreshments, a beer garden, and a DJ.
