In case you missed it…

The Maid Fire, reaching 942 total acres in the area southeast of Interstate 17’s Stoneman Lake exit, is now 100% contained as of Nov. 13.

There is currently an emergency closure order in place for Apache Maid mountain, including Forest Roads 620, 620D, and 644G. The closure, announced by Coconino National Forest, is expected to be in effect through March 30, 2024, according to the Arizona Emergency Information Network.

As reported by KTAR, the Maid Fire was human made and burned through ponderosa pine and grass in Coconino National Forest. The fire was first reported Nov. 4 about 15 miles southeast of Sedona. Investigators are working to determine the specific cause of the blaze.
